Expertise 04 · Freight, logistics & import

From the supplier’s door to the agreed destination.

KAELIN coordinates the movement of goods through logistics partners, licensed brokers and insurers, keeping the shipment connected to the order and the people waiting for it.

The client need

Goods bought from several suppliers rarely become ready at the same time, in the same place or with the same paperwork. Freight offers cover different things, and the cost of a shipment is often only clear once it arrives.

Buyers need someone to bring the shipment together, keep the documents consistent and coordinate the providers involved through to delivery.

What KAELIN does

We plan the shipment around cargo readiness and the destination, collect freight quotations and set out what each one includes. We then coordinate consolidation, export packaging and the commercial and shipping documents, and keep you informed at each milestone.

At destination, we coordinate customs clearance with licensed brokers, inland transport and final delivery, and follow up on any discrepancy or damage claim with the providers concerned.

Responsibilities are defined for each shipment

  • Specialist providers

Freight, customs brokerage, insurance and warehousing are delivered by the appointed providers. KAELIN coordinates them; it is not a carrier, licensed customs broker or insurer.

  • What a quotation includes

Duties, taxes, insurance and destination charges are not automatically included. Each quotation states its inclusions, and responsibilities are agreed for the engagement.

  • Updates

Milestone updates are shared through the communication channels agreed for the engagement, based on information from the carriers and providers involved.

Typical deliverables

Depending on the scope agreed, the work can produce:

  1. Shipment plan
  2. Freight quotation comparison
  3. Consolidated packing list and document set
  4. Milestone updates
  5. Delivery confirmation and exception record

What helps us begin

Origin and destination, product type, quantity, weight and dimensions, the cargo-ready date, the Incoterms agreed with the supplier if known, and any special handling requirements. If details are missing, we can obtain them from the supplier.
